Summers End

We had a wonderful summer and tried to soak in every bit of fun we could.  We headed to Atlanta for a Braves game.  Such a fun place with the new stadium.  I can't believe we hadn't see it before.  We didn't even know but 1 or 2 players when we went the first time and fell so in love with it, we've rarely missed a game since and can name every player on the roster.

Trace tried out dad's truck in the parking lot.  I can't believe in 6 months this baby will be old enough for a learners permit.
Father's Day on the boat...  Roman's first tube ride.  He was a fan!

We spent quite a bit of time on the lake tubing with friends...

We played lots of softball games and my girl has found a new love.  Look at that purple sky!  That sky came after we had played 6 games in one day, 3 of which in the rain. #purplerain

They had some lazy summer days as well....

For the 4th of July, we went to my cousin Carrie's house.  It was the first time our whole family on my dad's side had been together in a while and it was so much fun!  We have vowed to rekindle the tradition.

The next night we watched the fireworks at the end of our street.  Sadie sat out there with us... Timber was in the house with the TV blaring to drown out the sound.  Lol!

In July, Trace made the high school golf team.  We were SO very proud of him!!
This is Cooper and Grayson, the other 2 freshman boys.

A few days before school started, I took the kids, Jack and Quinn for one last hooray at Dollywood.  We made a day of it and got lucky with the heat.  Countdown to school has begun...

I was so proud of Keatyn.  When we were there in October she was terrified to ride a lot of the roller coasters.  This time, she rode them ALL... multiple times.  Here she is coming off the Wild Eagle for the first time with a huge smile!

Right at the end of the summer, we traded our pontoon boat for a ski boat.  We've only been out on it a few times so far but already love it!
My precious Nanny.  We got one more visit in before they shut her assisted living down again because of Covid.  She went from having sitters 3 days a week, to seeing family often and health care workers every few days to being alone again.  It truly breaks my heart. I love this lady so much!
We made it back to Atlanta for one  more game before school started.  This time we went extra early to look around and eat at the Chop House before the game, so I didn't waste 3 innings waiting in line at the concession stand for food.  Much better idea!

After Emerson's belated birthday swim party, the girls came home and spent the night here.  3 swimming girls watching Katie Ladecky swim in the Olympics.

You wouldn't believe all the planning that went into trying to get to Alabama to see the cousins.  With everyone playing sports and vacations we found a day to head to the Marriott.  Trace ended up not getting to go because he had made the golf team the day before and they actually started practice the next day.  Probably not a good idea to miss the first practice huh?  We had a great time catching up after a year and a half.
Now summer is over and school is in full swing.  Praying for a great 9th and 5th grade year!!
