"She thinks my tractors sexy..."

I mean really... what girl can resist a ride from a cutie pie sporting a monster truck "Gravedigger" shirt and a crooked haircut?

(And no, that was not a home-done cut... I paid for that.)

Daddy fashioned up a snazzy seat belt and away they went, tilling the garden and harvesting the crops.
The starts and stops were pretty rough at first, but toddlers adjust quicker than you'd think to whiplash.
The yard was somewhat "junglish" at the time but it's now been mowed and that John Deere can really roll now. I think we've started something!

March Madness

We finished up the Upward season with a pretty impressive record. Can't say as to whether we won or lost a game, but we made it through the season with no crying, no injuries, and a few new dance moves. I'd chalk that up to a success!
At the awards ceremony, they gave each player a real trophy and basketball... not to shabby.
Meanwhile, Ms. Sassy has been pigtailed...
Oh my word... I can hardly stand it!!!
My dad LOVES pigtails. I think I spent the better part of 8 years wearing "dog ears." And I spent the rest of my adolescence in those *$@% foam pink rollers.
Look closely... you can see the right one from behind the branch.
And here's the left...
You may notice the fake "mulch" from the ficus tree entangled in her tiny hands and all over my foyer floor. She's knows she's in trouble (look at that face) because I clean that up CONSTANTLY, but I think she's hoping the cuteness of her hair will spare her.

Trace is learning to ride a bike without training wheels and I either need to be absent from these "learning" sessions or heavily dosed with Xanax. He is doing amazing and I don't think it will be long before he's off and going. Granddaddy has already bought the rack to haul all of our bikes to Florida next month. I'm going to have to work on the loud gasping and shrills between now and then. Somehow I don't think the golfers of Sandestin will care to hear me while they're teeing up.

Jimmy and Trace spent 2 afternoons fishing this week. (They let me tag along once) I hope my boy loves it as much as his daddy wants him to. :)
I just love a magazine and a little sun on my pasty legs.
Our March Madness!!

** I apologize to anyone who read this with all the grammatical errors... my editor was out of town. :)

A walk on the wild side

Most wouldn't consider a family stroll across the Walnut Street Bridge to be a Walk on the Wild Side.

But considering these factors, it very well could've been...

- a novice scooter riding 5-year-old with a need for speed
- the first warm, sunny Sunday afternoon since winter
- half of Chattanooga (mostly on bicycles) having the same idea
- a toddler, who would much rather walk, restrained in a stroller

Fortunately, it turned out to be the PERFECT way to spend the day. With a little lupper at Northshore Grill first (thanks Tommy and Shara for the "Buy it Downtown" giftcard) followed by a Shaved Ice on the ride home.

I love fun family days in this beautiful city!!
