In my defense, there's a lot that happens in a day around here. Sometimes the details all blur together. We've started a new Ballet, Tap, and Tumble class in addition to the Gymnastics class on Friday. (that's Keatyn by the way) Trace is still doing karate but his interest is waning to say the least. It's becoming a fight, and I don't know if I've got any fight left in me. We may be seeing the end of karate soon. :( Plus he's been doing a 6 week Video Game Lab club after school on Thursdays and vision therapy on Wednesday afternoons to help with a visual processing problem his eye doctor discovered. We have done a biography on Johnny Appleseed and an autobiography on Mr. Trace Cofer himself, both requiring stand up in front of people speeches and full color display boards. Sigh. I may have 1 or 100 more gray hairs because of those. And then there's this mut. Who has completely stolen my heart, and thoroughly ruined my living room carpet...
He wasn't so sure what to think of the snow. The first time, we kinda missed it. We lounged around, enjoying our unexpected snow day too long and by the time we got out there, this was all that was left.
Literally, we said... "OK kids, let's go upstairs and put on 14 layers so we can play in the snow" and by the time we came down 20 minutes later, it was gone. Our poor, pitiful attempt at sledding in our "snow." They tried so hard. :(
So we walked across the street and introduced Timber to his neighbors. How precious is he?!?
He mastered the stairs pretty quickly, much to my dismay.
But coming down without being carried, proved quite a challenge. Trace took it upon himself to teach him.
It was freezing outside, there was snow on the ground, I was bundled in fleece pants, wool socks, and wrapped in a blanket in front of the fire and Keatyn was wearing a sleeveless leotard and nothing else. When the pizza guy rang the doorbell, she went running and stood on the snow covered front porch like it was July. How is she mine?
Pitiful with his little biting collar on...
And this just makes me laugh. Have you ever? He lays like this all the time.
So when the real snow came a few days later, we didn't take any chances. I honestly thought Jimmy was crazy when he walked into the bedroom at 8:15 that night and said we're going out to sled. Huh?
We had a blast! It was dark and kinda scary but so much fun!
That's me going backwards into the bottom driveway. I questioned my sanity (and the strength of my tailbone) at that point. The things we do for our kids.
A few days later, the BIG snow came. It was quite a big more than they had predicted and it was beautiful!! Making "snow day" pancakes!
We loaded up and drove to Granddaddy and Sisty's to play on the 4 wheeler on the community lot. But first
You might be a redneck if...
We had so much fun sledding behind the 4 wheeler. And it's WAY better than having to climb a huge hill over and over in 27 lbs of clothes.
Sweet Lady and Timber finally met...
Lady was so gentle. I hope they become buds.
This dog jumped right on. He certainly passed that test.
In other news...
My little princess in Ballet, Tap and Tumble. She has loved it!
Jimmy's first selfie. He had "pinkie promised" her he would come up there and kiss her goodnight, so he took evidence to show her the next morning.
And on nights when she can't seem to sleep in her bed, we have found her here...
Guess who else found a bed. What have I started?
We had great snow and great fun. Now bring on Spring!!
