Happenings

We are halfway through summer and we're loving it!  Nothing fancy, no big trips, just taking it easy and doing everyday things.

Like chess with Granddaddy...

and lots of swimming...

and dad trying to blow us off the dock with his seadoo wake...

and a perfect George Washington hairdo...

and a little front yard baseball...

and some VBS Wacky Wednesday hair...

followed by me playing Elsa for VBS family night...

Keatyn finished up her first year of gymnastics.  She loved it and did really well!  Her teacher's words were "She's a rockstar!"  Oh boy.  She had a show at the end of the year where everyone got to come watch and then she got her first trophy.  So cute!

And that same night, Trace got his 1st degree red belt!  Only 2 belts to go and then black.  If all goes well, he could be a black belt by Christmas.  So proud of my little guy!
We are in the middle of a little kitchen redo.  We moved from a house that was wide open, the kitchen and living room was one big room.  Our new house is much more separated.  So one night, as I was watching House Hunters at 3 in the morning (gotta love insomnia) I saw a house with our floorplan, except the wall was removed, opening it up more.  I got the wild hair to move the fridge to the other side of the kitchen and cut the wall behind it down, making it a bar that looks into the living room.  (Jimmy may cancel  HGTV after this :)

So this was our kitchen before...

And now...

I'm loving it!  It opens up the kitchen so much and now I can see into the living room while I'm cooking.  Yesterday, Keatyn was sitting at the bar (which is still unfinished and needing counter height bar stools) playing playdoh, while Trace was sitting at the kitchen table doing homework (in the summer, yes, I know... mean mom!)  We are about 75% complete.  So glad we jumped in and did it.

Father's Day, we went to Andy and Kadi's after church.  We ate a wonderful lunch and swam.  Love my little family so much!  And I know I'm biased, but we have the best daddys in the world!

Timber and Zorah played and ran so hard, he was wiped out the rest of the day.  Winning!
We decided in June to join the Big Ridge pool for the summer.  They had a sign up about the swim team which I had thought about trying out for Trace but it was already well into the season.  I called and they said there were only 4 meets left but to come on anyway.  So Trace became a Big Ridge Raider for a few weeks.  He only practiced a handful of times, but did well at the meets.  It was a good experience for him.  I don't know if it's something we will do again next year (those morning practices are rough :/ ) but I'm glad we tried it!

And those meets were HOT and long!!
That is supposed to say "Fast Button" but the s looks more like an r.  Honestly, either would apply.  That boy can fart on command.  It's pretty impressive.  Lol!

One of the meets was at Ridgeside, where his buddy Alex swims.  But they were at the beach that week, so we sent them this picture telling them we were there but missing our Moffitts.

This sassy thing just got up off the chair and went and jumped off the diving board with hardly any notice.  I didn't even have time to get the camera ready.  No fear!  She is swimming like a fish and has taken to it so fast.  (I did insist she wear swimmies when jumping off the diving board though!)
Dr. Cofer is in the house.  Under those itty bitty scrubs is an Ironman costume.  Multi tasking at its best.
And todays layers include Spiderman over pajamas.
We went swimming with the Alexanders the other day and Lauren had one of those new mermaid tails.  She was so sweet to let Keatyn have a turn wearing it, and she was hooked!  I sent a picture to Sisty to see if she could make one, but after much research and several trips to the fabric store, she ended up ordering one for her on the website.  Can you say spoiled?!?  Her "Rainbow Reef" mermaid tail is on it's way!

Keatyn had her first dental appointment last week, and keeping with tradition, Granddaddy was on hand to assist.  I wasn't sure she was even going to go in, but she put on her big girl panties and did great!  All looks great, healthy clean teeth!

Hopefully there is much more fun to be had this summer!  I feel so blessed to get to spend my days with these guys!
