Celebrating BB

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Baby Brown.  To say we can't wait to get our hands on this little guy or girl is an understatement.  And of course, adding to the excitement is the fact that we DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS!!  It has taken some getting used to.  I'm a planner.  I could never have done it, but it's so fun that they have.  Being at the hospital when Andy walks out and says, "It's a __________" and "It's name is ______________" is something I can hardly wait for.  Seeing my baby brother become a daddy is something so special.  They will make amazing parents.  A few weeks ago, we celebrated BB at the English Rose Tea Room with lots of sweet friends...

These two.

They've been besties since I was in the womb and my mom used to walk into work at the March of Dimes with her shoes untied and her hair piece in hand.  Bonnie would tie her shoes and fix her "do" because she was too pregnant to do it herself.  She has been a constant in my life and I'm so thankful for amazing, strong women that have loved my family for so many years.  She has made a beautiful blanket for all of the kids born and you should have heard the gasp in the crowd when Kadi opened hers.

Last Sunday, we celebrated at my house with a family and friends shower.  I love watching Kadi's belly grow, knowing my niece or nephew is kicking away inside!

June 15th is the expected arrival but you never know.  Can't wait to meet BB!

Life Lately

This dog.  I was sitting outside watching the kids play and he literally crawled in my lap and did this.  Oh. my. heart.  He definitely has his moments.
Playing "slides" at the Riverpark with Madison..  That's the CJ Robinson bridge above us and I'm fairly certain this was illegal.
Karma.  Trace ripped his pants.  I'm just thankful he had on underwear that day.  Don't judge.
He's become quite the snuggle bug.
A few weeks ago, we lost a dear family friend, Gary Hutton.  Jimmy's mom and dad have lived next door to them for 30 years and he's fished with Jimmy countless times.  We got a plaque/picture frame made up in memory of him and presented it to Sherry, his wife, at the CBA.  So many in his family were able to be there, including his 2 granddaughters.  He was a special guy and deserved to be celebrated.  He will be greatly missed by many.

We went to a fun Kentucky Derby party at my friend Lesley's house.  Big hats, good friends and mint juleps, not a bad way to spend an evening.  Jimmy was such a trooper, he fished AND WON the Sportsmans Warehouse Fishing Tournament that day.  After leaving the house before dawn, he left his partner to weigh in, rushed home, showered and made it to the party.  Poor guy, wasn't even there to receive his kudos on his win. So proud of him and thankful for being such a good sport.

The next day was Mother's Day.  I received cereal and coffee in bed made by my sweet boy delivered on a tray and then  the SWEETEST cards I've ever seen.  These two have my heart and I thank the good Lord everyday he chose me to be their mama.

After breakfast, we went to see Sisty.  We got her and Nana both raincoats with their initials on them.  I'm so thankful for a mother in law that is also one of the best friends and who raised my hubby to be the man he is today.

Then we met my family at Old Chicago for lunch.
These two women have created such a legacy of love into our family.  For generations they have poured love into their children, grand children and now great grands.  I don't know what I'd do or where I'd be without them.
Patty announced at lunch that her and John are getting married!!!  And this was Nanny's reaction.  We are all so excited for them!

What better gift to give a grand while she's waiting on her newest to get here.  Can't wait to meet this little one!

And then we hit the lake for a little fishing.  The day before, Jimmy found a really good fishing hole for the kids. So we headed out to see if they were still biting.  My kiddos love going WIDE OPEN in daddy's bass boat.  Sigh.  The fishing didn't disappoint.  And no one fell overboard or caught a hook in the ear, so I'll consider that a win.

Love these 3 so much.
That's life lately...
