Birthday Week 2017

My 3 favorite people are a year older.  6, 67, and 10.  HOW did my baby turn 10 years old?!?
Double digits, 2 balloons, 2 whole hands... HOW?
Speaking of favorite people... Love this little guy so much.  And it's so fun to watch him with his cousins.  They adore him.
Papaw and his grands.

So, I've realized my life is kinda divided into increments at certain times of the year.  Around Thanksgiving begins obviously "holiday" mode.  Then right after Christmas, it's "get back into school" mode.  Then it becomes "birthday mode" between mid January to mid February.  And then after, my least favorite "tax" mode.  Being self employed is not a joy around tax time.  Blah...  Truth be told, I am sitting here supposedly working on my taxes as we speak.  We are meeting with our accountant next Wednesday. Can't you see how well I'm doing?  Lol!

Our birthday week started on Wednesday night when Mom, Dad, Nanny,  Kadi, Andy and Roman came for dinner.  We did steaks on the grill and celebrated our big 3's birthday. (If you're watching This Is Us, my new favorite show, you'll get that ;)

The kids and Roman played in the driveway before we ate, and he was mesmerized by T and K on their crazy carts.  He ran all over the driveway in his little walker.  So precious.

Keatyn turned 6 on Saturday and we took her to dinner Friday night at "the fire place" (Ichiban) to celebrate. She loved her birthday pineapple boat they gave her for dessert.

That Saturday night, we celebrated Trace's birthday on Keatyn's actual birthday.  Ugh... I know.  This is just how it fell.  They both had ball games that morning, then Keatyn's gymnastics place didn't have an opening on her actual birthday weekend, so we did Trace's first and her's the next Saturday.  I felt bad shipping my girl off to Granddaddy and Sisty's on her actual day, but she certainly DID NOT want to be here for this...
Yes, it's February 4th and about 30 degrees and they are all out there with no shirts, shoes or socks on.  Sigh...

It was loud.  So loud.  And they mostly ran around in their underwear.  (I'd been warned but other parents this would happen.  That's why I let K go sleep at the grands.)

Bean boozled...  They all requested spit cups for when they got the nasty ones.

Dog food, rotten eggs, spoiled milk?!?

The first 3 asleep apparently got Sharpied by my son.  Ugh, I apologized profusely and made a mental note to hide the Sharpies if we ever do this again.
The next night, Keatyn lost her first top tooth.
It was a work in progress.  We had to call in the big guns.  Trace is the master puller and is known for pulling his own teeth when they really aren't near loose enough.  I wish we could post the video on here, but we ended up tying dental floss to it and Trace karate chopped it out.  There were tears (bless her heart)  and lots of obnoxious laughter (from her mean mother) but it worked!

Tuesday, was Trace's birthday so we ate at Chuck E Cheese and then met Granddaddy and Sisty at the house for cake. (I can't IMAGINE why they didn't want to come to CEC ;)

And just as they were leaving, she lost her second front one. This time, we all took turns.  But I eventually yanked it out without her even noticing.  Far less dramatic than the karate chop.  Making her an official snaggletooth cutie pie.
That Friday, they actually called off all the surrounding schools because of sickness. So when daddy called from the lake and said he'd caught the biggest bass of his life, we all got to go see it.  Trace ended up staying and fishing the rest of the afternoon with him.

10 pounds, 3 ounces ain't too shabby...
Saturday, the 11th, was Keatyn's birthday party at Alicia's All Stars where she takes gymnastics and dance.  It was crazy fun and I was running around halfway through having the parents sign waivers for Alicia so noone got sued.   Ha!

Lu (aka Mrs. Dishmon) came by and the girls in her class were so excited to see her!

I took popsicles to Keatyn's class on her birthday and doughnuts to Trace's class on his birthday so there was A LOT of celebrating going on.  Good grief.  Jimmy asked (as he does every year) "when is all this going to be over?"  Less than a week later, both had their Valentines parties at school.  I'm Lu's homeroom mom and the helper in Trace's class, so I did a little fist pump when we walked out of the school and it. was. all. over.  "Planning" 5 parties in 2.5 weeks is a little much. My prayer is that 6, 67, and 10 are their best yet and for a happy, healthy year!
