Spring Cleaning

Hello.  Is anyone still out there?.  It's been a while.

Well... since I last posted, there have been BIG happenings 'round here.

Big.

EPIC.

Keatyn has gone from a baby crib, to a toddler bed, to a full sized pillow-top mattress on the floor.  She's big time... and it's killing me.

Trace lost not one, but two teeth within a week and he's quite adorable.

See... EPIC.

This is a total mish-mosh of the latest in our lives. :)

This only lasted about 2 nights before we finally broke down her "big" bed that was on top of a gorgeous (but very tall) antique iron bed of Jimmy's grandmothers.  We threw the mattress on the floor and put the head and foot board in the attic to save for later.  Sometimes function trumps pretty.

I may be crazy, and the photographer probably did this for all the parents.  But when I picked up her preschool pictures, look who's picture was on the top of the brochure!  Again, he more than likely customized these for all the kids but I'd like to think my pretty girl earned her spot on the ad.  Her first gig! hee hee
Trace headed for his first field trip at the Challenger Center.
This is what his baby sister does while he's a school.  She adores him and misses him so much while he's gone!

Getting our fishin' on...

Stealing the boy's "juice."  Keatyn's favorite part of fishing.
Against my nerdy, schoolteacher/mom judgement, Jimmy (the fun parent) let Trace play hokey from school one day to go fishing.  He woke him up that morning and surprised him with a day on the lake instead of a day of Kindergarten.  First Disney, now fishing.  We are surely to win the "best parent award" for skipping school this year. :)  Oh well... memories.

So, of course we ate our catch for dinner that night.  Don't ask me why he's wearing his bike helmet at the table.  Some nights he comes to the table wearing nothing at all. Why? I don't know.  The boy has no qualms about being in the buff.  We certainly don't "dress" for dinner, but we do require at least underwear.
Our cousins from Alabama came in for Sara Kathryn's dance show and we went to the Memorial Auditorium to watch.

When we got home, Trace pulled his 3rd tooth.  All. By. Himself.
Then we headed to Sisty and Granddaddy's to try out the new zip line.

And to take a group bath.  (We know we're on borrowed time with this one :)

Trace and Halen, our carpool buddy, talked me into stopping at the gas station for Icees and Cheetos for their after school snack.  Those 2 know how to work it!  I have loved listening to some of the conversations I've heard from the "wayback" on the drive home from school.
Days later when Trace's front tooth was literally hanging by a thread, Halen even tried to pull it for him.  Bless her heart.
Literally... hanging by a thread, sideways.  But would NOT come out!
I just knew it would be gone by the time I got to school the next day.  But no.  He had fiddled with it all day (and I'm sure learned nothing.)  I finally took him out in the hall because he was causing quite a ruckus with all the kids gathered around him trying to watch, and we took turns at it.  He pulled that one too!  He was so relieved. My big boy!!
That afternoon (with the tooth tucked safely in my wallet) a friend of mine and I decorated Mrs. Watt's door for Teacher Appreciation Week using candy wrappers.  I thought it turned out pretty cute.
After they discovered the mud hole in the front yard...
Yes, they were stripped naked and hosed down in the garage before going straight to the bath!
CCS has an annual Field Day.  They divide the elementary school into 4 countries and even have an opening ceremony like the Olympics.  Very fun!

These kiddos keep us busy and happy!  Love them.

No worries Mom of the Year...I let mine skip for the Go Red Luncheon!!! :)
I mean, its K after all and we'd made it through winter season before spring hit and had sickness SO since perfect attendance was shot I think the allotted 5 days should be used wisely!
