Nelson's 1st Birthday

A few weeks ago, we made a day trip down to Alabama for a very special birthday party. Baby Nelson turned 1!!!

Most of Jimmy's family lives in North Alabama, about 3 hours away, and we don't get down there nearly as much as we like to, but 1st birthdays are so special and we couldn't miss it. He is precious and is growing up so fast.

Here he is blowing out his birthday candle with a little help from his big sis, Sara Kathryn. Aren't they a beautiful family? And look at those gorgeous curls... like mother, like daughter.
I've said this before, I love family names. Millie's (his mom) maiden name is Nelson and he was the first grandson on that side of the family. I think that is so special!

We tried to gather all of the cousins for a picture, but as you can tell, that wasn't easy. These kids are so used to flashing cameras they don't even notice them anymore. The paparazzi have nothing on Jimmy's aunts, Sandi and Sheila!!! They seriously could work for People magazine, they don't miss a thing!
I nearly died when I looked up and saw Trace with his fingers in Nelson's smash cake... manners, please!!! He sees cake, he looses control! We're working on it :)

Four generations...
We love you guys and are so glad we got to be there to celebrate Nelson's big day!! Can't wait to see you again soon. Happy Birthday sweet boy!
