Part 2

So this is the backstory to the previous blog. Lol.  Our Memorial Day weekend started a day early and after we got the ok from Andy on Thursday morning that Kadi's BP was ok and there wasn't going to be a baby that day, we picked Trace up from his last day of 3rd grade and headed to Atlanta.  This was a surprise to the kids and they were so excited to stay in a hotel for 2 nights.  It's the little things with little ones that you forget about as adults.  Our first stop was Dave and Busters, a video gamer's heaven.

 Then we headed to the Embassy in Buckhead and immediately hit the pool.

 We walked to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner. 

 The kids thought the mile ride back on the hotel shuttle was so cool.  See... little things.

 The next morning I woke up to birthday #41 and we hit Six Flags.  We pulled in at 10:30 and didn't leave until it closed at 8.  Not bad for an old 41 year old.  It did NOT disappoint.  Jimmy and I both commented about why you don't ever hear more about Six Flags.  It has a ton of roller coasters and was so much fun.  We picked a great day with small crowds and we literally got on and off rides over and over again with no wait.  Trace said it was better than Disney World! (And soooo much cheaper ;)

 That boy loves him a roller coaster and luckily his daddy is willing to oblige.  I try to dodge them at all costs, but he eventually talked me in to a few.  His sister wanted NO part of it after the dreadful rickety wooden one we rode first.  It hurt, there's no way around it.  He begged me to try the Goliath and I screamed bloody murder the entire time.

 Keatyn and I spent a lot of time on the kiddie rides while the boys tackled the coasters.

 I can not believe he talked me into this one.  It takes you 200 feet up in the air and then drops you.  After singing some creepy song at the top.   Good grief, the things I do for that kid.

 Keatyn finally found her ride.  It was a little coaster, so she felt like a big girl, but much more her (and my) style.  Her and Jimmy rode it about 5 times in a row while Trace and I did Superman.

 The next day we slept late, had breakfast, swam and then headed to Lenox and Nordstroms for a while before the Braves afternoon game.  We got there an hour early and I never would have thought we'd have made it through the whole game but we did!  It was a great game and we can't wait to go back!!  And yes, we've already bought Braves shirts because we look lame.  I know.  I wasn't properly prepared.

 We bought tickets in the shade because that was a game changer.  It was SO hot and the sun was blazing.  The game started at 4 and we watched the fans on the other side of the stadium fan themselves for 3 hours before the shade finally hit them.  Well worth the extra money.

 This child danced his booty off.  They play music in between innings and commercials and they would always show the audience on the gumbo tron.  They were looking for the most entertaining fans and boy did they find some.  He finally made it onto the big screen and it was so fun!

 The Braves haven't had the best season so far, but they won big that day and it's always more fun when you win. ;)

Love these two so much!

SUCH a fun weekend!  I was at dinner with some friends a few nights later and Iris had just had a family vacay from hell.  She has a 5 and 2 year old and said it was a miserable 2 days. They needed a little family joy after having just buried her mother in law and grandmother in the same week.  Her funny hubby declared half way through the trip that he had more fun at the funerals.  Ha! Ha!  I assured her better days were coming.  While not every minute was wonderful (I may have threatened to drive home during our meal at the Cheesecake Factory if they didn't stop fighting ;) that are at a much better age to travel.  I couldn't believe Keatyn held in for 9.5 hours walking all over Six Flags without one complaint.  I hope to take lots more fun trips with my little family and continue making memories with them.  A great kickoff to Summer 2016!!
